Explain an annuity illustration in two minutes

Most clients never read an annuity illustration past the first page. A two-minute video that walks through it in plain language gets watched, surfaces the questions they would otherwise sit on, and makes the next meeting shorter.

All guides

The structure

  • 0:00 to 0:15. Who this is for and what they are looking at: "This is the illustration for the contract we talked about on Tuesday."
  • 0:15 to 0:45. What it is for, in one sentence, in the client's own goal: income, growth, or protection.
  • 0:45 to 1:15. What is guaranteed and what is not. Use the carrier's wording for rates, caps and assumptions.
  • 1:15 to 1:40. The costs and the rules: fees, riders, surrender period and how withdrawals work.
  • 1:40 to 2:00. One clear next step, such as a booked call to answer their questions.

Keep it clean

  • Never project returns beyond what the illustration shows.
  • Say "guaranteed" only about what the contract guarantees.
  • Include the disclosures your carrier and IMO or BGA require, and get the video approved before sending.

These guides are general practice tips, not legal or compliance advice. Always follow your carrier, IMO or BGA and state requirements, and get client-facing material approved before it goes out.
